Question: Why is the power light off?

Answer: If the Power Knob is turned beyond the “O” position and the power light is still off, double check to make sure your unit is plugged in and the outlet it’s plugged into has power.

Question: Why is there no mist or steam coming from my unit?

Answer: The nebulizer, or white circle, that you see in the bottom of the base vibrates at ultrasonic speeds to create the mist that this unit gives off. Minerals from your water will collect on the nebulizer and once they harden, the nebulizer slows to a pace that is too slow to create mist. Clean the nebulizer every week to ensure proper functionality. Note: When cleaning the tank or base, do not use detergent as this can impact the output. Refer to the Weekly Cleaning instructions found in the Owner’s Manual for details.

Question: What do I do if the water is overflowing from the reservoir?

Answer: If you notice water overflowing from the reservoir, check to make sure the Tank Cap is completely closed and in the lock position. If the Cap Seal isn’t attached to the Tank Cap or if you notice any cracks in the tank, please contact Consumer Relations here

Question: Why is there condensation on my walls, ceiling, windows, etc.?

Answer: If there’s condensation, then the humidity level in the room or the house is too high, and the air is becoming saturated with water. We recommend waiting to use the unit until the moisture level drops or using the unit on a low setting. A hygrometer can be helpful in determining the actual room humidity. 

Question: Why is there white dust?

Answer: With an ultrasonic humidifier, a built-in nebulizer vibrates the water at an ultrasonic frequency which causes the water droplets to break into a fine, cool mist that you can see. Naturally occurring minerals in your water get projected out with the mist and can settle around the unit in the form of white dust. It is not harmful in any way; it is just the mineral contents of your water. The amount of white dust you see is directly related to the hardness of your water. To reduce the amount of white dust, use distilled or purified water or Protec Demineralization Cartridges.

Question: How to operate the Nitetime-Light?

Answer: Touch the colour-changing Nitetime-Light button (lightbulb icon) as follows

  • 1st Press: Colour changing Nitetime-Light turns ON
  • 2nd Press: Light stops on the current colour
  • 3rd Press: Turns Nitetime-Light function OFF

You can Press and Hold to dim the light at any time, there are 3 dimming levels

Note: The Nitetime-light can be used with or without the use of the humidifier. The Nitetime-Light will remain on, even if the humidifier has been turned off. Touch the lightbulb icon to turn the Nitetime-light off.

Question: How to operate with essential oils?

Answer:

To use essential oils in your humidifier, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil(s) to the water in the Tank and replace the Cap. DO NOT operate without water. ONLY use 100% natural essential oils, use of other oils may cause damage to the Humidifier.
ALWAYS reference the essential oil labelling for usage and dosage instructions.
NOTE: The Tank and Reservoir are made of oil-proof materials but other parts of the Humidifier are not. Essential oils should only be allowed in the Tank and Reservoir. If any oils spill outside of the Tank or Reservoir, be sure to wipe down gently with a wet paper towel and then dry gently with a dry paper towel.
